The Drive to Work

Always amazing: the beauty of the scenery we drive through every day on our way to EFL jobs in Italy.

Here's one teacher's perspective on the morning commute:

" The sea and coastline and the mountains and valleys are truly breathtaking, especially in spring. In short, if I have to sit in traffic (or in the middle of a herd of goats), there is no country I would rather be in than Italy."

That sure beats the morning commute here in Indianapolis! Can't wait to start my summer teaching job in Camerota, Italy- just 5 more weeks of the 9-5.

Same here... my first time teaching ESL, but I'm working with a summer camp (anyone ever heard of ACLE). Hopefully, it will be a great experience- it's my first time out of the country, and I'll be gone for 2 mos. Wish me luck ;)

I also have a summer teaching job lined up in Italy, but I don't know hardly any Italian- hopefully it won't be too much of a problem. Anyway, it will be a great opportunity to learn it.

Hi guys, I just found this website and was wondering where you guys found your jobs at before you've even been in the country? I've heard that was basically impossible for Americans which I don't know whether you are or not. Also do you have any certifications or degrees? I have a degree in Anthropology but am very interested in Italy and everything it offers! Thank you so much!

looking forward to the drive and change of pace. got a job this fall with a private language school near rome- 1 yr. contract. now i need to find a cheap apartment. anyone?

(all pretty expensive-- guess it's the area)
